President's Update
I'm sad to say it, but the end of the year is fast approaching. It's been a great year filled with exciting events, successful fundraisers, and a lot of great memories. First and formost, I'd like to thank everyone for all they have contributed throughout the year, for this year's success would not be possible without the overwhelming support we have received. There's just a couple of things before we close out the year that I would like to inform you about, for we still have 2 packed months of activities.
A big thank you goes out to all of the people who made the Spaghetti Dinner a huge success, especially Devon Wohl and Ann Atura, but also all those who made generous donations. Also, we have a great event planned at the Jewish Community Center for Israeli Independence Day, and I hope all of you will be able to attend. USY will be participating in the festivities by running a carnival, raising money for Israel, and holding contests throughout the day. If you would like to help out with this event, please email us at CBIUSY@aol.com.
On May 18th, we would like to congratulate the current members and Board members for all of the hard work they have contributed all year, thank everyone who has supported USY, and vote in the Board members for the 2003-2004 year. You can find information about the Awards Dinner on our website, and if you would like more information please contact myself.
Finally, I am really excited to announce that we will be taking a Chapter trip to Las Vegas, Nevada on May 26-30th. We will be touring the city, meeting up with the Vegas chapter for dinner and activities, participate in religious and leadership activities, and of course relaxing. Members will be receiving information in the mail shortly.
Good luck to all those participating in Regional Convention; they are in for a memorable week.
Finally, we will be ending the year with a pool party at Kim Atura's house to celebrate this years success. I hope to see all of you there.
It's sad to soon be leaving USY after eight years of priceless memories, but I am happy to say that I am leaving you guys in good hands. This year's board has been fantastic, and next year's is certain to be even better.
Sincerely yours,
Jason Tenenbaum
President

Youth Director Update
The end of the year has arrived. The Spaghetti Dinner was a great experience for the USYers, and to all who attended. Thank you to everyone who helped pull it off, and especially Ruby Bendersky for her very generous donation.
On May 26th we will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada. Kosher meals have been planned, and events have been scheduled with the Las Vegas USY Chapter. We plan on making new friends, sharing ideas, and enjoying a little R&R. If you are interested in participating in the trip, and would like more information please contact Jason Tenenbaum.
With the end of the year comes closure and new beginnings. The Awards Dinner and next year's board elections will be held on Sunday, May 18th at 6:00PM. This is a great time for families to come together and celebrate the accomplishments that have been reached this year, and begin to look forward to goals that will be striven for in the year to come. If you would like more information on the awards dinner, please contact me.
B'shalom,
Libby Werba Youth Director

On April 12, USY attended the second game ever in Isotopes Park history. Wearing matching outfits of red shirts and red or black Isotopes hats, USYers showed a lot of ruach throughout the ten inning game. After starting the wave in their own section and watching it loose its oomph as it moved across the crowd, several brave USYers decided to take matters into their own hands. Distributing themselves down several aisles to cover various sections, USYers warned the crowd that the wave was coming and instructed them when to wave. By the fifth inning the group had finally begun a wave that went all the way around the stadium, most likely the first such wave in the history of Isotopes Park. The wave leaders were hoarse but very proud. Although the Isotopes lost the game, that didnt damper USYers spirits, for there was a lot to do and see at the new baseball park. All in all, it was a great night of baseball, friends, and fun.
